Tony’s Message
from the Executive Director
As
the new executive director of Keep Brevard
Beautiful, I know people want
to live and do business in a beautiful community. Our residents and
businesses are interested in cultural offerings, schools,
entertainment, sports, and the environment, not only the
trees-and-plants part of the environment, but the living
environment. When people consider relocating here or opening a
business and recruiting employees, the living environment of the
community is a crucial component of their decision.
For
the past 30 years, Keep Brevard Beautiful has worked tirelessly to
keep our communities clean, with a focus on eradicating litter. KBB
educates the citizens of our county about recycling and diminishing
waste and strives to assist with attracting businesses and tourists
to our lovely communities. Our goal is to cultivate an area our
citizens are proud to call home and our visitors want to return to
year after year.
As an
affiliate of our national organization, Keep America Beautiful, we
all work together to keep our communities clean, safe and vital
today and tomorrow. In the months and years to come we will seek to
further involve our youth in our programs. After all, they will be
the ones to carry KBB’s mission into the future.

Keep Brevard Beautiful has
thrived the past year under the able leadership of our Chairman of
the Board, John Porter. John
is also the founder of Porter World Trade, Inc.
He started the company in 1991, which supplies customized
souvenir goods to major attractions country-wide.
Porter World Trade has been a trusted
name in the merchandise business for more than 15 years, focusing on
major themed attractions and retailers.
The employees at Porter World Trade work hard every day to
make customers happy, by providing custom product solutions and good
service.
John became involved with KBB
in 1989 when he was the mayor of the city of Cape Canaveral, and has
been one of our most dedicated and hard working members ever since.
So much so, in that our membership has “recycled” John as
chairman - he also held the position for two consecutive terms from
2000 – 2002. Earlier,
he was the Vice Chairman of our organization.
He has also been a force for change and improvement along the
way.
